Last month the governor of Minnesota approved several measures impacting employee entitlements to leave and protections.

New Laws
  • Earned Sick and Safe Time – effective January 1, 2024
  • Paid Family and Medical Leave – contributions and benefits effective January 1, 2026
Changes
  • “Kin Care” – amended effective July 1, 2023; repealed effective January 1, 2024
  • Pregnancy and Parental Leave Act – amended effective July 1, 2023
  • Accommodations for Pregnant and Lactating Employees – amended effective July 1, 2023
